power steering pulley oops

Anyway, as yall know they cant be pulled off very easy if you make this very stupid mistake, but I figured I would try, as I happened to have a 3 jaw puller in the truck. Pulled it right off no problem.
So I fill the reservoir, turn the truck on, all the way back and forth on the steering wheel a few times to burp the system, refill to proper level and the pump sounds like CRAP!!!!
It whined so loud I couldnt hear the motor running. Now Ive done a few of these in the past and this is the worst I have ever heard. I know they all whine a bit but this is just not right.
So heres the real problem. I was gonna take it back and get another one, but I dont have the correct type of puller (i rented it for the new one). So I figured what the heck? It worked yesterday, Ill just use my 3 jaw... and Im sure yall know what happened next.
So now I need a pulley and NO ONE seems to have one. I have one on a parts truck at home, but Im on the road and need to get this fixed. Any ideas where to get one?
I have also heard some people change the pump to a different style of pump. Is there a "bolt on" swap I can make where I can get both pulley and pump?
Kinda of up a creek here so advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Ford sold the pulley separate, not furnished with the pump. I would assume the autoparts reman's will be the same. There's a gazillion different pulley's, diameters and offsets are different.
It came from one of the plastic bodied pumps I think they started putting in the trucks in 78ish?
Anyway, the pulley pressed on and lines up perfectly and the system runs great now that I got a new (Cardone reman) pump on it. Thanks anyway tho NumberDummy.
Note to others: If you go to buy one of these reman pumps, make sure it has plugs on all the orifices and is in some sort of bag or wrapping from the factory in which it was rebuilt. The one I got from napa was missing the plug for the pressure side outlet and even had the nut on it that holds it onto the bracket. I am almost positive that someone bought this pump and brought it back because it was bad and then NAPA just put it back on the shelf and sold it to me.
They wouldnt let me return the pump, and would only exchange it, but by the time I got there at 4:00 on saturday, they were closed, and they are not open on Sunday. So I ate the $40 and got one from o'reillys to get back on the road.
I know that this is probably just an isolated incident but it cost me two days on the road and a lot of headache. NAPA just lost a customer....
