Steering Column swap question - E4OD rod linkage to cable

Hey guys, I've been looking around but I haven't dug anything up on this yet. Perhaps I'm searching for the wrong terms though.

I have an '88 with an automatic (originally C6). The linkage had a fair amount of wear and was showing it's age with sloppiness (go past a gear and back up to get it into gear behavior). So long story short - Engine swap, switched out to E4OD, I picked up the cable shift cable, and the cable shift transmission bracket. I would like to switch the column to a cable shift column so I can hook up the other end to the shift lever.

Has anyone done this? I'm certain I will have to replace everything from the steering wheel down to the steering box, but what about the electrical connectors? Are they the same or will I have a rats-nest requiring changing electrical connectors to match the newer cable shift column. It also looks like the cable shift has some under-dash supports that would need to be switched over?

I'm looking for any info you guys may have! I'm hoping someone has done this before so I don't have to try to break new ground.

Thanks!
