towing capacity of 95 F-150 straight-six manual tranny
Does anyone know the trailer towing capacity of a 1995 F-150 shortbed straight-six with a five-speed manual transmission and no towing package? I am confused about how to figure this out using the GVWR's of the truck and the camper I want to tow. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey.. you don`t say what your rear end code is .. check in your drivers door for a 12 , is 2.73 ; 18 is 3.08 ; 19 is 3.55
Just bought a 19 foot Prowler trailer , dry weight about 3600 lbs , put a class 4 hitch on ( for the dually I don`t have YET) !
The Truck is a 1988 F 150 I6 with 4 speed manual Borg-Warner tranny
and a 3.55 rear end. This truck has 130,000 miles on it , I replaced a front yoke , universals , front rotors and bearings , new pads/shoes , all for the sake of safety. This truck is powerful , and VERY strong. The guy who towed it home for me had a 302 in a `96 with auto , and 3.08 rear end. Man , what a difference , even though my truck is older and higher mileage , she pulls like a dream.NEVER EXCEED YOUR MAXIMUM VEHICLE WEIGHT RATING , FOR EVERYONE`S SAKE. IT HAS LIMITATIONS FOR A REASON!!
Gearing is the answer guys , and LONG LIVE THE I6!!
Good Luck
