Tire size(Again...)2001 F150 SuperCrew 4x4

I've got a F150 SuperCrew 4x4 and need new tires.
I'm having a hard time (ignorant) finding how large I can go, and what would be ideal.

I've got stock tires, and want to go with something a bit more aggressive, larger, but still good for highway,as I do alot of pavement traveling.

I'm looking for size, as well as manufacturer, and style recommendations.

Thanks for any input.

Mike

Do you have 16" or 17". 265/75R16 look good on a 16" Wheel, And I like the 17" with 265's as well.

I'm pretty sure I have 16"
It's not the "Off Road" Series...just 4x4...

Thanks!!!!

If you have 17" your stock tires are P265/70R17. I have a 01' SuperCrew and it's a 4X4 and I have 17"

I’m in the same boat with my 99 supercab! I'm thinking of 255s on the 16" rims. Do you have any thoughts on correcting the speedometer difference? Do you know if it’s just a change on the end or the cable on reprogramming something in the computer?

If you are concerned about fuel economy stay with a narrow tire, If you don't care about economy the bigger the better just don't forget about the balljoint issue on Fords.

Shernius:
To correct the speedometer, it is done through the computer. If you have the Superchip you can do it with that.

Ok. I've got 255/70R16s, and to beat all when I got to my truck last nite I had another flat tire. That's a signal....

I'd like to go at least 265-looking at either BFG All Terrain, Dunlop Rover, or the Toyo Open Country.

Thanks All!

I've got a new set of TOYO 285 70R/17 which is about as large as you can to without rubbing. Awesome tires and look much better than he stock 265 70R/17.
