Blinker help

Finally got the rusted switch replaced and now I have brake lights, which is a relief as I have been pulled over twice already. My next project is the blinkers.

My driver's side blinker will blink...very, very slowly. The passenger side will light up but not blink. Any ideas?

Very very slowly, replace turn signal flasher.

BOTH front and rear passenger side lights up? Or just the front or the rear? If the latter, one of the #1157 double bulb filaments has burned out.

Of course... just do not do it with your eyes closed or they will never light up, also be sure to blink rapidly if you do anything to the signal system.

Check the grounds and bulbs before replacing the flasher. Seems my memory is trying to wake up and tell me a burned out bulb can cause the problem, a bad ground can also. Too lazy to look it up, but you need to check the bulb and circuit anyway.

Congrats on two stops without a ticket on the brakes.

Small town Georgia. The traffic stop usually starts like this:

Officer: "Hey Dan! You get a new truck?"
Me: "Yup. Picked it up a coupla weeks ago."
Officer: "I heard you were home. Good to see you back home safe and sound."
Me: "Thank you."
Officer: Tell yer mama and 'em I said hello and get those brake lights fixed."
Me: Allright I will. Thanks."

I drive off.

Sounds like small town Wisconsin as well...

Plates 2 months expired.
"Corey you know your plates are expired."
"Yup"
"How about you get that done by the end of the week. Ill be dropping by to check on you on Friday. If it isnt done, Ill leave the ticket in your truck."
"No problem, thanks Bill."

Thats my kind of friend Desert Soldier...thats for your service...to our country and in keeping one of these fine Ford trucks on the road.

Slow flashing equals a dying flasher unit...I have a friend with a 76 E series and had the same odd issue...slow flashing or on staying lit when turn indicated..I gave him a HD one I had kicking around...normal flash speed now..popped bulbs in and out and checked and cleaned contacts as needed...all is well in flashing lights world on his van...
Assuming your truck has 4 way flashers too...there is a seperate flasher that controls that circuit seperately..The OE units are gold colored flashers...aluminum housing...

I live in the country, I got stopped by a deputy and here is how it went.

I roll my window down 1/2 inch and say, "Hey Barney, how is Opie?"

"My name is not Barney. You have a license plate light out. I want to see your drivers license and registration."

I reply, "I have a concealed carry permit and a concealed weapon in my right jacket pocket."

"Thank you for that information. May I see your drivers license and registration."

I come back with, "If I buy tickets to the Deputy Sheriff's Ball, can I get out of a ticket?"

Disgusted, the Deputy states, "Deputy Sheriffs don't have *****."

"Really? Just as I suspected."

The Deputy smiled, turned and went back to his car and drove away.

4 ways use a H/D flasher, turn signals use a light duty 'weak sister' flasher, but..

The H/D flasher can be substituted for 'weak sister' and was with trailer tow and for peeps that are deaf, cuz it has a louder CLICK.

But, you should not substitute 'weak sister' for H/D flasher.
