Probably but, No one will admit to it.
To further obscure the original point of this thread:

On the forum are all types of truck configurations: rusty, painted, stock, resto-mods, darksiders, hodgepodges, parts in boxes, frame swaps, and all the rest. By and large, there is a strong sense of pride in the ride - regardless of 'looks'. We are naive amateurs, complete professionals, well funded, on a shoe string, properly equipped, and users of borrowed tools. Those with working trucks enjoy the ability to take 'em out on the road, and sincerely wish for all brother and sister FTEers to have the same opportunity. Not much pretense here - and also not too much tolerance for posers.

Me, I marvel at the abilities and depth of knowledge of many of the members here. In contrast to my meager skills, these are true artisans using wrenches, welders, body hammers, and spray guns to create - using old iron as the media.

If there is any constant here, it is to temper the enthusiasm for frame swaps by the inexperienced. This caution is fueled by the harsh reality that most require a level of technical ability, time commitment, budget, and equipment that cannot be satisfied by a casual weekend hobbyist. A tour of Craig's List or eBay will introduce you to any number of 'project' trucks - many of which were overly ambitious efforts to remake a truck. The details vary, but the narrative always is the same - 'can't finish it, need to sell'. The sellers will never recoup their investments and the buyers will usually shake their heads. To quote a line: 'A man's got to know his limitations'.

So, ask any question - starting a new thread is highly encouraged - and enjoy the journey.

Opps, missed my morning meds...
