New user to the Sixties Ford Truck

Hi Everyone,

I am new to the Ford Truck Enthusiasts forum. I just purchased a 1962 Ford F100 Unibody. I am very excited about purchasing my first classic vehicle. I am like others here on the site. I would like to know more about my warranty plate information. My Vin# is F10JD301346. Here is the rest of my plate:
WB - 114
Color - T
Model - F10J
Trans - A
Axle - 11
Max. G.V.W. lbs - 05000
Cert - 114
H.P. R.P.M. - 3600
D.S.0. - 61

Thank you in advanced for any of your help on deciphering this information.

Axle - 11 = Ford 9" - 3.70-1 - no Limited Slip - 3,300 lbs rear axle capacity.
114" Wheelbase and that's it. You cannot say short bed because there's no way to know if these trucks came with any bed originally or not. VIN Series code (1st 3 digits) doesn't decode to pickup until 1973.

Could have been sold as a Cab & Chassis, Open Drive-Away Chassis & Cowl or Cowl & Windshield. Bolh: No bed, no cab, just a dashboard, floor pan, bare frame rails behind it, fuel tank located on left frame rail.

Model code F10J is correct for 1957/62's, refers to F100 2WD, 5,000 lbs. GVWR

The OP said it's a "unibody" with 114" wheelbase....that's a short bed. How could that be sold as a "Cab & Chassis, etc"?????

Well obviously it couldn't, I read Dave's decode which threw me a curve, didn't read post 1. Dave said Welcome to FTE and "66" ownership.

So, I thought the OP had a 1966, no Uni's after 1963. 66 in this context refers to Uni body style.

Maybe he was also hinting that the OP should consider posting in the "66" section since posts in the "Uni" section often sit there for weeks with no response!
