Question about radiator???
The original one in the 54 has been rodded out a long time ago. I was out cleaning on the garage and found a 4 core cross flow out of a 79 Camaro with manual trans. The actual core is as wide as the truck core but is not as tall. The question is do you think a cross flow will work as good or better than the vertical flow?. I do have a budget to work I wish I could afford a new one. I realize I will need to fab mounts and deflectors, oh I also have stock shroud for cross flow.

If the original is working well, why change? These old radiators last a long time if the coolant ph is maintained and stray electrical currents are kept away.
My '49 project has the Ford script radiator that seems to flow good and appears solid. I am going to give it a chance to cool my 350 SBC

Ray, the radiator is not leaking but it acted as if is was not enough when I over-worked earlier this summer. In all fairness I should pull it out and flush it out with a hose.
