4.0 ohv carb/distributor coversion?
I've recently gotten into racing my 93 explorer in a "cruiser" class at our local dirt track. After my first race, on the 4th, I've realized that I need to shed more weight, and add a little more giddyap to the 4.0, to really be competitive. I've already ditched the entire interior, and have decided to pull all the wiring harnesses, computers, a/c bits, heater core, t-case (I have a tail housing), convert to 2wd front axles, an aluminum drive shaft, spool, and run itty bitty tires.
A problem, there in, lies in the fact that the 4.0 uses a coil pack ignition. So, I need to run a dizzy, on an engine that does not have a port in the intake manifold for one, despite a place in the block, and a drive gear on the cam. Help!!

I know this is a 9 year-old thread, but did you ever get anywhere with this? Megajolt/E could be a great solution for you. Their primary market is for people running carb setups with EDIS for solid state ignition control.
