RSK with SD springs? 86 F250 + D60
Ok, I was going to run the D50 TTB for a while but a great deal on a 97 OBS F350 came up. So I'm going to swap in the D60 because I want a stick axle. Read all the pro's and con's of the D60 vs D50 and don't care - I want a stick axle.
So... Since I'm going to have the engine out and the front suspension stripped off anyway now... I'm thinking of a reverse shackle kit. I understand I'll have to box the front frame horns to use the kit on my 86 but that shouldn't be a big problem.
My question is about the SD front springs. I'm told I can move the RSK forward about 4" and use the later SD springs. Is it worth it in terms of ride quality? I was going to use the stock F350 springs most likely but if the lift/ride height wasn't what I wanted I would swap springs. Maybe I should just acquire a set of SD springs from the start?
Not sure this is the best place for this, if the mods feel it would be better in suspension please move it.
