Rough shifting
Hi,
I have a 2015 powerstroke, dpf, egr deleted with canned SCT X4, been like that a year. I took it to dealer to have oil and fuel filters changed a few months ago. It’s shifts hard when tranny is cold 3-4 or 4-5, depends. Any thoughts on this? Is this a bad thing?
Thanks.

I had a similar issue with the 2-3 shift when cold and occasionally the 3-4. It would smooth out as it warmed up. At the time, I was using the EZ-Lynk and prior to that the MiniMax. The MM & EZL base tuning software didn't allow tuners to import more current ECM/TCM base calibrations to work from. They were from old 2011 calibrations they tweaked for newer trucks. The gremlins/issues I had with the mini-max were still present when the EZ-Link was formed after the EPA fiasco with H&S. Fast-forward many years. Last year, I got the SCT x4 with custom emissions-on tunes from DP-tuner. They could import my OE calibrations from Ford into the SCT tuning app and modify it from there. He tweaked his normal TCM settings (pressures, slip, shift points, etc). Now I don't have any hard shifts, cold or warm as a result of the base tuning issue. As an added bonus, the random trans buzz when the truck was off went away as well. This buzz drove me crazy for years. Hours after the truck was off or when you opened the door and the truck woke up, the trans solenoids would buzz. It may be time to find some custom tuning. I now use the EZL as an expensive monitor.
