Both of those plugs have been checked and quarters intserted and tightened...checked and triple checked those plugs....I wish that this had worked as easy and cheap of a fix as it was!

Are you going to sell it cheap? If so, I'm interested. Sounds like it can be fixed to me.

The thing about checking electrical connections with an ohm meter if the symptoms are only there some of the time is, you have to catch the truck acting up with the meter. If you check it when the truck would be running fine, then you won't catch anything.

There's also a chance that you have a bad injector solenoid and it is causing the IDM to shut down the entire bank. I've seen that before. The injector still ohms out within spec, but is about half an ohm off the others and enough to cause all the problems.

We'll help you diagnose it further if you would like, or if you really have written it off and are going to practically give it away, my son in law could use a truck like that.

Edit: If you're interested, what were the ohm readings for each injector?

I don't understand what you mean by same. Same as it was before? Injectors ohmed out exactly the same? What were the readings on the injectors?

WE don't have a OHM reader. Checked the harness again...even pulled off when truck was running..and did not make a difference

Everything you have said so far points to a wiring problem. You need to get an OHM meter and start ohm testing the injectors on that side one at a time.

Please see the following thread from this forum at the following link and then scroll down to post #8 and then click on the link in that post for instructions on how to test both your injectors and your IDM also. HERE

It would be better you guys fix your truck instead of selling it so that someone else can do what you could have done.

sometimes A pin burn on the "top" or the "under" valve wiring harness will cause the truck to loose contact on one side. look real close at the plugs for a burnt pin. you can ohm the injectors and the glow plugs.

Relax and we will help you chase things down.. don't get mad and just throw your hands up..

That one sentence screams "Electrical" at the top of it's lungs.

Look under the driver-side tube with foil on it. You will see a boxy-looking connector there with a 13mm bolt in the middle. Spin that bolt out and pull the plug. You will see the 42-pin connector like below.

Set your meter to "Ohms". When testing the Passenger side, hold one probe to the P+, and touch the odd-numbered pins, one at a time. Each of those numbered pins is the wire going straight to the injector solenoid under the valve cover. #1 pin goes to the solenoid in cylinder #1, and so on. Odd numbers are the Passenger side, and even numbers are on the Driver side.

As you may guess, you can test the injectors on the other side of the engine by holding one probe to D+, and touching the probe to each of the even-numbered pins.

This procedure tests all electrical to the solenoids, and the solenoids themselves. You should get about 3 ohms (more or less) on the solenoids, and they should match pretty closely to each other.

You should be able to get a cheap multi meter that can read ohms for less than $20. If you have to keep chasing it, you can test from the connector on the IDM too as shown here click here

Where are you located Lisa? Someone may be close and may be able to help you guys out to find the problem.

Personally I would have drained all the bad fuel out of the tank and put in new fresh stuff. Everyone is on the right track here though with something may have happened to the wire harness on the side of the not firing injectors.

Okay so...here is my stupid question for the day(there may actually be more..lol)
Once we get the ohm meter and test the pins...if the readings are not the same, the pin that is off is bad...so do I replace the whole harness? the pin? the solenoid? the injector? Thanks
