53' F600 front engine mount
I discovered the large truck forums and figured my question would be best for this forum. I have a flatty 239 out of an F250 that I would like to put in my F600 big job. Did the big trucks have a single front engine mount that bolted onto the front of the flatty? I think i found the plate on ebay i will try to post the link.
Thanks

Thanks for your help Tatum81. I looked at my truck the other day and I'm a bit confused I see there r two front motor mounts holding the current engine in (a 223 I think). From what the data tag says this truck originally had the flathead 254 in it if this helps. I'm also wondering which oil pan I need? I heard that there was a special pan to clear the front axle in the big trucks?

337 flatty: 1948/51 F7/F8 & 1949/51 Lincoln/Cosmopolitan. 1952 F7/F9, 1953/55 F700/950 would have come with 279 or 317 OHV Lincoln derived Y blocks.

Engine code 4th digit of VIN / 1953 F100/600: D = 215 OHV I-6 / M = 254 flatty / R = 239 flatty. No engine code for 337, cuz it wasn't available after 1951.

Thanks for the help Number Dummy. I purchased a parts manual on CD and I'm realizing how many parts differ from the 254 to the 239 in 53'. Luckily it turns out that my uncle has a running 53' f600 with the 239 flatty and hes just down the road. Any suggestions on where I can find some of these hard to find big truck parts? I will try to call JobLot Auto soon to see what they have. I need an oil pan, clutch housing, front mount and the frame cross member to go with it, and many more.
