Rear axle noise - wheel bearing?
Howdy all. Been around the forum for a long time, as I've always had Ford trucks, but never posted a lot.
I just picked up a 1992 Bronco 5.8, which has an E4OD and 3.55 limited slip. It has a noise that sounds like it's coming from the rear, and is road speed dependant, not engine speed dependant. I'm pretty sure it's a wheel bearing (rotational 'grinding' noise), but is there anything else I should be looking at?
While I'm in there, I'll probably do the diff bearings as well, so I'm thinking about swapping to 4.10's. I'll do the bearings and gears in the front also if I do.
What's a good source for the gears front and back these days?

I've used different outlets over the years....4 Wheel Parts, Randy's Ring and Pinion, Jegs. Never could complain about any of them. Just shop prices. Most will have a gear swap set....bearings and seals for doing a gear swap as well as the axle bearings. Since you're tearing it all the way down, I would do the clutch pack in the diff also. If you're not doing the install, make sure you get a reputable shop to do it.
