Just my luck I had all fluids changed and hooked up camper and took for a test spin and when I pulled over and shut down to look over everything truck would not start!!! Temps only hit 212 eot 218 Ect ?? Turns over but no fire I used a small amount of starter fluid I know to be careful and it cranked a little and then the ol put put put vroom to life?? Got me scared was supposed to leave for vaca tommorow I'm sick to my stomach. Had left side dummy plug and standpipe done earlier this year . Grrr

Make sure you are running a MotorCraft oil filter and cap. If that is what the truck has on it, than I am afraid the STC fitting, Stand Pipes, and Dummy Plug's need to be replaced.

Go to dealership buy a Motor craft filter and oil filter cap. Youtube filters for the 6.0/6.4, you will understand why it matter's.
But hot start usually point's to HPO leak.
I would still replace filter and cap first.

Thanks just got frustrated with the timing . Lol. At shop now hopefully just dummy plug . We contacted campground and by some luck they are going to work with us . Keeping my fingers crossed. Lol

yep just keep telling myself could of happen when had whole family 8 hrs from home so maybe the test drive was a good thing to find the weak link. Does stink though just put 4" exhaust to help EGTs stay low and all fluids done truck has been running like a top till now . Wah .

Thanks guys! Dealer called to tell me starter is fried due to long starts so they need to put new starter on to Start chasing hpo problem. Grrrr gotta put up a pole barn and become my own mechanic.lol.

I hear you there! I got lucky, and had 2 nice day's to update the Dummy Plugs, Stand Pipes, Fuel Pressure spring, New Air Cleaner, and change oil.
