Western Mirror Door Bracket?

So, my '65 F250 had a set of Western mirrors on it at some point in time as the 2 holes are still in the door above the window and 2 down on the side of the door. I picked up a set of Western Junior mirrors off of a 1970 truck in the wrecking lot and cleaned them up. They are in perfect shape and match up to the hole locations....almost. Problem is, the spacing on the holes at the top of the door are wider than the mirror bracket that is on my mirrors. I have looked around and it looks like the spacing on the Econoline upper mirror bracket will work. The bracket has relief cuts for bending. Like the bracket in this pic! Anyone know where I can get a set of these upper mounting brackets?? I have been looking at the local yards. Thanks, Patrick

Mirror mounting brackets

Hello, I am still looking for a set of the upper mirror mounting brackets like the ones in the previous post. I have seen them on Econolines. Anyone anyone? Thanks, Patrick

Look on the backside of the mirror heads for 3 vertical embossed lines.

If not present, these are aftermarket mirrors.

1966/72 F100/350 & 1966/74 Econoline "Swing-Lock' Western Junior mirrors (painted and stainless w/o the 3rd 'steady rest' arms) are the same.

1973/79 F100/350's are different due to the contour of the doors. 1975/79 Econolines use different "Swing-Lock" mirrors than 1973/79 F100/350's.

Only the mirrors heads were available by themselves and they're the same 1966/79 all with or without the 3rd 'steady rest' arms.

Bracket, upper, door frame

The pic that I posted I snagged off of the web. The upper bracket that holds the mirrors to the upper frame of the door is what I am after. I have a set of stainless, factory FORD mirrors with the 3 lines on the back/front? of the mirror heads. I got them off of a '67 truck in a salvage yard. I restored them, they are mint. My '65 F250 had a set of these mirrors before I bought the truck. The holes are there to prove it. Not sure why, but the upper holes match the Econoline bracket. Yes, I made a template of the holes and checked it to the bracket on a friend's '69 Econoline. Matches! So, I am looking for a set of these brackets......which look identical to the ones in the pic above.

There are no NOS brackets available, as FoMoCo did not furnish the brackets by themselves. They were only available with the mirrors, which are obsolete, no one has any NOS

Sorry Bill, I know that you are the guru and probably a great guy, but I didn't ask if there were any new brackets. I am asking if anyone has any of these old brackets....someone somewhere may have a pile of parts in their barn...aka CS65 up in Seattle. A pile of mirrors. Hell, I can go and get probably 5 sets of these mirrors right now at a salvage yard here in Portland. None have the bracket that I need though. Just asking the community if anyone has come across this funky little bracket in their stash. I would appreciate it....thanks. Here is a pic of my friend's '69 SuperVan.

I realize what you're asking for, all I was trying to do was inform you that neither the brackets nor the mirrors are available NOS and what the applications for these mirrors are.

Don (camperspecial65) is a personal friend of mine, has stayed at my house here in LA LA Land several times. June 2008 to attend the F100 Western Nats, several years later when he bought a used RAV-4 locally off craigslist. Why he couldn't find a used RAV-4 in the PNW, I dunno.

He has retired from selling used parts, told me recently what he couldn't sell, would be thrown away. He's also selling off all his NOS, which includes a '65 anodized aluminum grille.

Thanks Bill.
I met Don once here in Portland about two years ago, at this yard.

I guess I will keep scouring for an Econoline with the upper bracket.

You are a day late and a dollar short as they say. I am in Spokane area and they had a few econs. in a pull and save yard not to far from me a number of months ago. Im guessing they are long gone now. I will keep my eye out for some when I am there next time. I will keep this post in mind and pull them for you if you still need them.
