The old rubber tends to fuse with the metal due to corrosion and compression so it will likely be really stubborn. Do whatever ya gotta do to remove them. It could range from a hammer and pry bar, to a grinder with a cut-off wheel, to a flame wrench.

Yeah, everything that isn't metal will melt. I recall it'll be like 400° for powdercoat to flow.
