DRW dana 80 abs ring gear on carrier?

I run 37" tires and I have had it with my 3.73 gearing and bad shift points. I have settled on 4.63 rear and 4.56 front. The issue is the carrier break in the dana 80 is 3.73-4.10. so I know I need a new higher ratio open carrier. My question is if I need a toner ring for ABS. if thats the case I have to buy one that can accept a toner ring.

The problem is 605926-1 is the BOM tag on the axle, when I search this dana does not say w/abs next to it. Page 74 http://www2.dana.com/pdf/X510-2.pdf

Top the housing has a wiring connector inline with where the toner ring would be. So I am pretty confident I need the ABS carrier anyway. your Thoughts?

The F-450 trucks also have the D80 carrier ('99-'04). Available ratios are 4.88 and 4.30 and there may be some one out there who makes the 4.56.....I believe I saw it as being available once.

Point being...the F-450 unit would have the toner ring.

I believe the 450 carrier would be for the 450 axles also though...

Good point. That is the missing piece to the puzzle that I wonder about. I know the 350 DRW axle shafts are smaller than the 450 but I wonder if the splines are the same for the carrier? The photos I saw almost looked like the 350 axles taper up right at the ends where the splines are. I guess it would be interesting to find out if they are in fact different. When I had my axle shafts out of the 450, the shafts were pretty thick the entire length.

Donn, you are correct. The F-450 carrier accepts 37 spline axles where the F-350 carriers use a slightly smaller 35 spline axle. So, the F-450 parts won't be of any help to the OP.
