Has anyone on here replaced a tranny solenoid?

I have a delay when shifting from park to drive and when shifting from reverse to drive. All other transmission functions are working fine. This seems to be a common problem with the 5R110 tranny. I've done a bunch of research and viewed a number of pictures and I'm convinced that replacing either the line pressure or the low/reverse solenoid would correct the problem. I'm thinking of opening that puppy up and giving it a try myself; just go ahead and replace both. Except for changing filters and adding a MAG HYTEC pan to my 7.3L I have no actual tranny experience. Is there any one on here who has done this repair and if so how did it come out and what do I need to know? Thanks for the help.

Very simple. Drop pan, figure out which one you want to replace. Remove the little e-clip and it comes right out.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Based on my research the line pressure one requires the throttle body be lowered. But that doesn't look like it's a real big deal. I saw where you upgraded yours to an after market solenoid but I don't remember which one.

transmission dont have throttle bodies
iirc the valve body has to come down. its as simple as a trans job gets theres a lot of fluid traped behind the valve body though so be careful you dont take a bath
