Shotry Headers for 1984 bronco 351w... will any do

Hey guys, Im having a hard time finding headers for my truck. I want to get shorties but all the ones I can find have a fifth pipe coming off the front. Im guessing its for some EGR sorta stuff?

Anyhow heres what Ive found.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ps...d/model/bronco

Id like something with out the extra pipe or do i just cut it off and weld er up?

Again it would be on my 84 351w bronco auto trans, power steering
'
thanks

Bassani shorties. They are equal-length and are a direct replacement for the OEM manifolds (no modifications needed). And before somebody gets all ****-ant because I am "promoting a product". I OWN this product and have USED this product for more than 9 years!

gotta love the forums eh lol, ill look into them.

Checking their site it only offers for 86 and up. Im going to assume they have the extra pipe as that's what Ive found on all the others, could u snap some pics of yours both sides? if they are just 4 into collectors then im sold

There is nothing special about them other than being equal-length pipes and they flow a helluva lot better. There are no additional holes, no additional plumbing or any peripheral components to them. They fit in place of the OEM manifolds with some minor shifting of brackets to compensate for the flat flange at the cylinder head instead of the big bulky OEM manifold. Otherwise, I see no reason why they wouldn't fit ANY 351w from a truck. (Car engines may have had different exhaust port shapes over the years). I should have some photos in my gallery.

(As an afterthought; the best reason I can think that Bassani would list them for 1986 and up would be that they designed the manifolds using an EFI truck and they didn't research backward to see if they actually work on carburated models. Unless there are some major differences in the non-EFI 351's and 302's, I don't know of any reason why they would not fit. I would wait a bit before committing to buying them in the event someone else here can offer some reason why my thinking is inaccurate).

I found a set of headers on Amazon. They are Flowtec Ceramic coated. I have used Flowtecs before and had mixed results in quality. One pair installed like a dream and the other fought me the whole way!! I had to take them back off during installation and open all the mounting holes. They are listed for about $280.00. Here is the part # Flowtech 32502FLT Ceramic Headers.
I put some equal length shorties on one of my Mustangs and it was a bear! I'm sure trucks and Broncos have a lot more room though!
Hope this helps!

Hey Matt, please tell me more about your installation here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...n-the-way.html

I just bought the same headers you installed, also, tell me about the performance gains, I'm very interested.
