Need some thoughts on this repair underway. 2008 F250 6.4 with 90,000 miles. Purchased used a few months ago out of state. Out of warranty due to time--Jan 2013. Threw P012F code so I took to Ford dealer. Searched this forum extensively successfully to understand potential issues (new oil cooler) and installed Edge Insight CTS as well just to be sure in order to monitor ECT and EOT--EOT are 20 - 22 degrees higher than ECT.
Dealer calls yesterday and said oil cooler has already been replaced twice under warranty --which I did not know. QUESTION: Even though the primary warranty has expired, is there any situation whee Ford will honor the warranty on the second oil cooler? Just trying to be ready to discuss with dealer and save some bucks.

Thx Senix. Dealer is pulling thermostat this morning. I wonder where this is going? I will find out about condition of coolant, etc. Does Ford or dealer have warranty on the oil cooler itself and the installation? Don't know when last oil cooler was replaced but I will find out. Since I did not own the truck, i am not sure what they did on replacing the coolant.
