Smile Location of turn signal relay 1996 F150 XLT

Hello forum!

Where is the turn signal relay located on a 1996 F150 XLT? I replaced the round, gray flasher in the fuse box, but my turn signals still do not flicker; they only stay lit.

After reading some other related threads, it appears that some members use the flasher and relay interchangeably. In other threads, members make a clear distinction between a round gray flasher and a separately located relay.

Please inform me of the location of the relay if, in fact, a relay is actually separate from the flasher. Thank you for your assistance.

The flasher on the front of the fuse box is the turn signal flasher. The one on the back under the dash is for the emergency flashers.

When you say they stay lit, do you mean that when the turn signal lever is activated (all other lights off), the front and rear signal lights just stay on bright?

There is no turn signal relay, just the flasher TG001 talks about in the fuse panel.

Thank you bashby and TexasGuy001 for responding. Now I know not to go searching for a turn signal relay.

TexasGuy001, you described what is happening correctly. When I activate the left or right turn signal switch the light remains brightly lit but does not blink. The left or right arrow stays lit on the instrument panel but they do not blink.

What troubleshooting methods should I take to correct the problem?

You can swap the hazard flaser for the turn signal flasher, they are the same. It is most likely the flasher, A burnt bulb will do ithat also, but both sides are the same. If all the bulbs are good I think it has to be the flasher.

bashby, thank you for the assistance. All the bulbs are functional. I exchanged the current turn signal flasher for another one at the store. The new flasher does not stop the problem from occurring. I will continue searching for a solution to making the turn signals blink once again.

Actually, perfect time to ask this. I just made an account a few minutes ago and had this exact issue two days prior. I replaced the flasher relay/clicker/whatever it's called in the fuse panel on bottom of drivers side dash. Big round thing in the bottom right of said fuse panel. Went to Autozone and picked up a replacement for 7 dollars that was of much better quality then what was in there. My lights would stay lit on dash, not blink, and my signals did not work at all. Fixed issue right up. If wanted, I can find out the model of the new part I installed. I believe it was a 552 size long life flasher made by Novita?
