Highlift on hood would it work?

Try it and see. There isn't much room under the hood between the intake plumbing and the hood itself. And if you are asking about strapping it to the outside of the hood, why would you want the visual obstruction? The F-series and Broncos of that era already have limited visibility down in front of the truck due to the height of the hood. (It is why the 92+ models have the lower/longer slope to the hood).

I have a hi-lift on the hood of the 86. It's as close to the wipers as possible without hitting anything when opening the hood. Been on there couple years, doesn't obstruct the view, hasn't cracked the hood, handy when it's needed. Aesthetics are not important on this rig, there's not a straight piece of metal left anywhere.
