Poll Bullnose(80-86) vs OBS (92-97)
I'm torn between which style I like best. Functionally and style wise they both have there merits. My bricknose(87-91) needs a lot of front clip work and I'm not a fan of the bricknose. I know I like earlier and later better, but can't decide which way to go. I have just about enough parts to go either way. And yes I know I'd need to change the bed for the bullnose, it's not an issue.
So as one of the functions is too look good to others I want to know what the rest of FTE thinks looks best or is otherwise better and most important why?
I also put a copy of this thread and poll in the bullnose 80-86 forum to give that style a fair shake. Please vote in both if you feel strongly enough. Here's a link https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...s-92-97-a.html

I've always loved the bullnose (started in '80 btw...), I love the classic look, and the interior is very comfortable and user-friendly. I finally bought a '92 5.0 M5OD as a more efficient driver, had to be something '80-'96 because I love this body style, and I definitely like the front clip, however the interior seems a bit too plain. I never did really like the look of the bricknose as much though. Btw, wouldn't these all be considered OBS? Since they are practically the exact same body/structure? Either way, I'll have to vote bullnose as that's what I grew up around, everyone had one when I was a kid although the final style is quickly growing on me.

Yeah IDK about the OBS term, people use it, I guess we could say 9th gen, but as far as I know there is no name like Bullnose or Bricknose for the 92-97.

I like my 84 F250. It has real glass headlights, not those funky plastic ones that cloud up in the 87 up trucks
The 92 and up dash bezels are a weak plastic part that loves to break apart. At least my 89 F250 dash is solid same as my 84.
Its a toss up for me,between the 80-86 and 92-96 front clips, not much for the 87-91 ......big bricknose hoods.

The body was the same all through from 87-96, just different front. I think they're all considered to be "old body style" Fords. Body parts are interchangeable from the 8th or 9th generation F-series, the front clip is just different.

I say go OBS me and my dad both like OBS trucks the best but I would say my second choice would be a bull nose. I love my 88 F150 bricknose to death but I have to say body wise the bullnose and OBS are in the lead. Now if it is a bricknose personally I would keep it the same to me it isn't worth the hassle of changing it unless you have a lot of rust or good sized dents. I want to change to the OBS or bull nose on our 89 F350 because it is so trashed from the PO but I am going to keep the 89 F250 and 88 F150 we have the same. My dad loves the look of his bull nose a bunch so I guess that is 2 for either OBS or Bull nose if your clip is bad off.

There was a good point made in the other thread, copying it here also.
A good point, the truck is a crew cab 4wd with oversized tires and a winch bumper. After body work it will be painted black, how glossy/flat that black is I haven't decided yet. Likely more flat if I go bullnose.
