They don't make em like that anymore Marc. Poor trophy queen may have needed to sew her lips back on after the last kiss...

Thanks Turbohunter for sharing the you tube video. Brings back memories of either watching safety films at driver Ed, or osha safety at work, or being back in traffic school, watching these films from the 60's and 70's.
Even though Bruce Brown produced a surfing film just prior to this in 1958, I'm sure Sid Davis probably influenced Bruce's works as he produced his famous documentaries.
Great stuff.

Thinking about this some more, I remember the Art Arfon's Green Monster model we owned growing up, being one of our first influences to SPEED.
My brothers and myself still have a good friend growing up that got to know Butch Leal pretty well when he was living in the same apt complex in the Burbank area. Butch as a well know Super Stock and Pro Stock racer, was also quite a good golfer and he and our old friend Bob, made some good money, betting some of the old guys over at the private Toluca Lake Golf Course.
Through Butch, our buddy Bob, met Ralph Seagraves, the Winston VP of marketing in those days. Bob was the best joke teller around and he and Ralph hit it off because Bob kept him laughing.
We got VIP passes/tickets to the Pomona Winternationals and the Nascar Winston Cup races at RIR in the early 80's. I remember sitting in the Winston Cup suite with Ralph, Don Garlits, and Don Prudhomme, buddy Bob, and our younger brother Steve, talking and having lunch together with these guys. Thinking back now, what an experience.
I just pulled out of my old photo's a few months back to take to our anual trip to the Nascar weekend at Auto Club Speedway. Pictures of one of the 1984 RIR races, standing on pit wall, watching guys like Terry Labonte, Richard Petty, Tim Richmond etc, come in for tires and fuel. Funny to see guys just wearing street clothes pitting and the cars using the old style gas nozzles to re-fuel. Petty's car up on jackstands after he blew out a rear end but still finished 23rd, down 14 laps.
Those were the days to share some of these memories...
Springer Pop spent lot's more time, intimately involved with these guys building engines, etc and I'm sure he could share a few of his own moments.
Pop's?

That was a good old time.
I remember traveling X country with a blown fuel flat bottom, and up to Bakersfield with top fuelers and out to Irwindale/Miller beer to run my '65 mustang when there was blacktop there. And this damn '70 Chevelle that was faster than lightning runnin' brackets down at OCIR.
Ah memories.
