Should be just fine as long as their isn't anything wrong with it. A good cleaning is always a nice idea as well. Whats wrong with your current one though?

i had some bolts break off, and in trying to remove them the manifold had suffered. Are there any tell-tale signs i should be aware of? i was told that they could be warped. If that was the case, would a good gasket and sealant help to resolve any issues of warping?

Take a good strait edge with you to the yard or wherever you get it from. With it you can check for warping. Other than that, make sure it isn't cracked anywhere, and that it isn't clogged in the runners.

Nothing wrong with junkyard parts, just make sure you get the part from a similar vintage(87-93) 5.0 truck and not a 5.8 or later 5.0 truck. The 5.8 motor is wider so the intake won't fit at all and on later motors Ford moved the IAC sensor to the airbox so there won't be a location for it in the intake and you can't just leave this sensor disconnected.
