fresh build questions

I have a 94 flare side super cab it is my daily driver. The engine company I paid $4000 to completely rebuild and beef up the engine damaged the engine and will not fix it. So I going through a lawsuit with them. Now that I bought a second car (95 tbird with a 4.6) I will just build it myself. And take my time.
I use it as a daily driver but I want power.
I was thinking about boring it out 30k but don't know if it is worth it or not. Thinking about a trick flow full top end with 75-80mm throttle body gt40p heads and a large lift cam also tossed idea of port polish and balance. Already have shorty headers with true dual 2.5" exhaust. Can I get some ideas?

Yes. It was manufactured august of 1994 so... some things are 94 and some are 1995. In this case it is NOT a speed density. It has mass air.
The people that built my engine wrongly DID put a "piggyback" hyper tech computer in it. So I figured I would just need to have that reprogrammed.

How did they dammage the engine? If its a 302/351 get a top notch timing chain set, I spun the cam sprocket on my truck last week.

Burning oil worse than it should. They put a crown Vic oil pan on it. Engine hammers when starting it. Claimed they put a 500 lift can in... but I don't notice any extra power. They damaged the upper radiator support. Bent the driver side hood hinge spring assembly. And told me to f off I no longer have a warranty. First rebuild they did in 500 miles I burned through 2 gallons of coolant. And 18 quarts of oil. They claimed I did the damage. But their mechanic used a paper gasket and rtv black on water pump to give you an idea. They charged me for new sensors on second rebuild. But never changed them. Police are investigating the company. BBB is investigating. I only had one car at the time I paid them or would have done it myself. Now I have two cars. So when this rod knock or whatever is wrong finally gives up. I will build for power myself. They claimed what they did would give me 300+ HP I don't think I even have 200 HP with how sluggish it feels and I paid an extra $1000 for "go fast" goodies.

Sounds like they screwed you every direction they could. Well when you get around to rebuilding it, Think new higher flowing cylinder heads, headers, cam swap, higher ratio valve rockers, intake upgrade ect. The nice thing is since you have a MAF system, you are already pretty well suited to upgrade your motor. However, when you do get around to rebuilding it, tear it down to the block and have it inspected at a machine shop. With how poor of quality you described on the first rebuilds, I wouldn't be surprised if they damaged the block.

I planned on that. Already have the headers. Planned multiple upgrades. But was curious about boring out the engine. How much have other ppl gone. Read boring out 40k is very risky. But also read 30k is almost max. This truck is daily driver... so I want reliable. But I also want power. So when I have a shop check block I will have them bore the cylinders as well. Bigger can. All parts increased where applicable. And planned to buy a set of gt40 heads and have them reconditioned as well. Then I planned to get the trick flow upper and lower intake. And probably a 75mm throttle body. And I concidered some form of high spark ignition as well as 32-35 pound injectors from accel.

I would have the shop inspect it, then see what they recommend. When I get around to my build I *might* have it bored .030" over, but I plan to consult with the machine shop first. GT40 heads are good, but it depends on what you pay for them. A good cam and lifters, nice flowing heads and intake, like the Trickflow, and A good flowing exhaust should really wake the engine up. Injectors might not even need to be upgraded. If so, 24lb would probably be more than enough. Bigger injectors don't add power, they just allow for you to have more.

Hopefully Conanski will get on here and give you more specifics. He REALLY knows these engines.
