0.000 is the max that can be removed, heads should not be machined as doing so will more then likly put you below spec

They just cleaned it up and tested for cracks. It tested fine. I bought the removal & installation tool on ebay for $340. I replaced the injector cups and couldn't find a crack on any of them, but I did have one discolored one. The engine won't turn over now though...... Any clue what could cause that? The truck was not having an overheating or oil in water problem when it tries to burn up. Can it be water in the cylinders and if it is how do I get rid of it??

its fuel and or water in the cyclinders.
remove the glowplugs and slowly bar the engine over by hand.
keep your face away from the cyclinders

I think when Cheezit says to keep your face away from the cylinders, he means you'll shoot your eye out with that thing. Quote from "The Christmas Story"...
Be careful.

So .............. fuel in the coolant, almost burned it down, you haven't found any problems, but you replaced the cups and are re-installing the same heads?

Is that correct??

For the people that want to see the tool for pulling the cups look here.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/TOOL-6-0L-FORD-DIESEL-POWERSTROKE-INJECTOR-SLEEVE-REMOVAL-INSTALL-KIT-/330929421055?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d0cee3aff&vxp=mtr
Why does this thread sound like parts are being thrown at the truck without proper diagnosis?

I saw that . I was not able to find the Ford Rotunda Tool
when I was looking on Ebay the first time but I think I did this time
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-6-0L-Fuel-Injector-Sleeve-Cup-Tool-and-Parts-Kit-Fast-Shipping-/181085681865?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item2a298c38c9&vxp=mtr
OR

And here is the installer

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rotunda-Ford-Truck-6-0L-diesel-Fuel-Injector-Sleeve-Installer-LH-22050-/360677337047?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item53fa0b67d7&vxp=mtr
I really agree that is is real expensive to throw parts with doing a the right diagnostics.

One of my better work skill is the ability to do a good troubleshooting. For some reason
the way I go about it always seems to be the most logical way and tends to find the problem.
