2000 F250 shift **** broke??

It broke just above the steel shifter handle, and I thought about trying to glue it using Goop appliance glue. What have others done to fix their broken plastic shift ****?? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

A new shift lever is about $65 from a Ford dealer. It isn't hard to install it. Just a thought...

This is what I got 2000 2005 Ford Excursion Auto Transmission Shift Lever with Boot and Switch | eBay

For the time being I would just uses electrical tape to hold it in place.

It's a pretty easy job to do. I did one outside my friend's shop in about 40 minutes. That included repairing and adjusting a broken shift indicator cable, too.

I will order one off Ebay...

I can get another mechanic friend to help me out with the install. I appreciate the feedback. Thanks.

Same thing happened to my wife's truck a few years ago. PartsGuyEd mailed me a new shift lever for about $45 or so...

I epoxy glued the broken lever back together and saved it just in case....it still is in the storage shed.
