86 EFI 5.0L High fuel pressure problem!

Hey guys, After having months of fuel problems I just cant take it anymore.

Every single part on my fueling system has been replace.
Rear tank
New in tank pump
In line fuel pump
Removed tank line selector located under the frame
new fuel filter
regulator

For some reason now the truck makes over 70psi. The fuel pressure gauge I have on the fuel rail actually almost wraps around if it wasn't for the posts inside the gauge. Replaced the pressure regulator TWICE because I thought they were faulty. All proper vacuum lines are hooked up as well. removing the vac line from the regulator doesn't affect anything.

The truck idols around 1500 rpm but it's running incredibly rich. Fuel actually leaks out of the tops of the injectors there is so much pressure.

WHAT is causing this!?
Any input is greatly appreciated !!

Have you checked your return lines for kinks and or restrictions ?

I could double check but it seems like all the fuel lines are good.

Are the new pumps factory replacement parts (or compatible)? Modern fuel injected engines take MUCH higher pressures than do engines of this era.

It's a 170 or 190 Lph I think... I'm almost certain it's the same litters per hour the stock one was.
I thought regardless of the PSI shouldn't the regulator control how much goes through to the injectors?

It should, but it sounds like you may have a restriction on the return side. It can regulate pressure, but if there is no where for the excess to go you can run into issues like this. As far as the leaking from the injectors, that sounds like you need to replace your o-rings. They should be capable of holding back the extra pressure by design.
