The mechanic at the shop told me i needed to turn the motor i have in storage. he said to put the transmission fluid(like a teaspoon) onto the pistons and turn it. i did that. but i put the plugs back on before i did and when i turned it i heard like pressure be released from somewhere. was i suppose to leave the plugs off? it didnt cross my mind until after i did it. im worried
i took value covers off n spin the crank(with plugs out lol) everything seems to be working normal under there. i have no idea what else to check. someone please respond
looked into one of the plug holes could see a chip on top of a piston. oh well an excuse for forged. could this chip have happened from something else?
The pressure was going by the rings. Completely normal.
it sounded like the pressure was released from the engine. but it was around an hour ago n it freaked me out so i got stressed. So i really can't look back with much clairty. however there is a chip on a piston. which i could of done or the guy who sold me the engine gave me all the paper work about the rebuild except the pistons and when i tried to reach him nothing. oh well, i just need to look on the bright side. an opportunity for forged pistons and 10:1 compression before i get it all hooked up to the truck
save some money and just buy an entire motor rebuild kit with the high compression ratio setup offered by mabbco motors check it out at least b/c if you just buy the pistons anywhere else its about $350+ but you can get the entire rebuild kit from them with high compression silv-o-lites (9.7-10.50 to 1) for around $500 and you get a lot more stuff and shipping is free i am happy with all that i have ever bought from them

Where are you located in Louisiana ? I'm with Argess, I think you saw a valve relief thru the spark plug hole. The hissing was normal.
wow thanks a lot you guys. i really appreciate it. i've only gotten into vehicles and motor not even a year ago so im really new to this. little things have the ability to scare me lol.
