Ummm, sorry to have to tell you, but that is NOT an upgrade.

Not at all, remember newer is not always better. A 99 PS has the Nissan Body Style and computer control. There is no Ford style or reliability in it.
Going from a 2013 one room hut to a 1913 mansion is an upgrade, the years are irrelevant.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder..............
OP, i'm sure you will be happy with the '99.
me personally....i like the hydroboost, rear disc brakes, intercooled, better ride, more power....computer control isn't nearly as bad as you guys make it out to be.........just sayin'

Computer control is crap. Not heresy, my experience and others. I run trucks in 3 states. Ever since we bought newer and new trucks that are computer controlled we break down ALL THE TIME. The dealerships are screaming busy and they say there's no money in driving trucks, selling and repairing is the real money now.
I drive an '07 F150, there's no way one could say the comfort, looks, and reliability of it are superior to a truck 20 years its senior. It's a freakin' Nissan with a Ford badge and that's all. Even the mileage is crap will its plastic and fiberglass parts, teeny tiny puny aluminum 5.4, OD transmission, and 3.55 rears. I can get better out of a 68 F-100 with a C6 and a 300.

it's an upgrade from what he's coming from.did you check out the ad? her frame is rusted out.they don't last forever in the rust belt without constant maintenance.you've got to do what ya got to do.there isn't enough old trucks to go around,so it's good thing most go newer or no one could find anything older reasonably priced lol.
i see many super duty trucks around here not long for this world any more now.

I just drove a 2000 F350 Pwerstroke 4WD dually today with 86,000 mi. on it, and the performance was dismal. Mine seems to have quite a bit more power. Granted I just replaced injectors and mine is a stick compared to auto, and I don't know what type of maint. the PS has had. It seemed to start and run smoothe.

im surprised you haven't sold and moved on yet.you clearly would prefer a newer truck.
this economy, age and fuel prices have now killed the early super duty trucks too.it's not like they are spring chickens anymore.
you could sell and or trade right into one with enough time and effort.
it's not the 6.0 that you like but look at this just for an example (and for an example i spent all of 3-4 mins looking.)
