96 f150 moving the coil

i've got fire jumping from the ignition wire on the coil to the base that holds the coil i need to move the coil completely because its not in the stock postion anyway.. has anyone moved theirs? Im thinking either somewhere back on the firewall or the plastic wheel well.. Is it as simple as unbolting it and cutting a place out and bolting it back up?

Yup, just find a new place, run your primary and secondary wiring over to it, and you're done. But, if your high voltage wiring is in good shape, you shouldn't have a spark jumping to the base of the coil...
