Wheres my fuel?????
K Guys here is a STRANGE, one for me anyhow. I was driving my 89 F150 (302) around the ranch and I put it in reverse and slipped off the clutch. Truck jumped a little and now NO FUEL going to the EFI throttle body.... Checked inertia switch (not triggered) put in new FP relay still no fuel, Put in new EEC relay now dead battery as I was given 2 FP relays. Truck ran great prior to the jerk. Any input??? BTW LOVE my '89!!!
Thanks,
Andy

Working wiring now with the battery dead as a raccoon on the side of the road have to get it charged up first. Dont think tank pumps are the issue have 2 tanks and neither will perform. Funny that all of a sudden it just went bad like this. No early signs or anything. Are the inertia switches know for going bad?? It is not triggered but this is my first '89

My truck wouldn't start a few weeks back, no fuel from either pump. Inertia switch wasn't tripped. But I wiggled the wires going to the inertia switch and it voila it started. It was moist out that day, and I don't think my door seals are what they used to be, so I'm thinking it was some degree of corrosion.
Do you hear the relay "click" when the key is turned to on?

I had an '87 BroncoII at one time in the past (about 10 tears ago).. One day I was going down the road minding my own business (unusual for me) when it just quit running. Checked everything, the inertia switch was not tripped, BUT I did find out it had gone to the great junkyard in the sky..
A paper clip jumper got me home and lasted until I could get a new one..

K so replaced starter solenoid/ both FP and EEC relays. Now I can hear the high volume fuel pump it was raining yesterday and by myself so hard to hear. So I know that is engaging but still nothing. Fuel filter??? Gonna head out to try and find it now. OK Well momma is home and I had her turn the ignition key!! Found out the pump I heard was the in tank pump and NOT the high volume on the frame rail. NOT a squeek out of that one, so on the way to parts store for new high volume pump and filter!!! Never seen one just DIE like that but oh well in this case quiet is good!!

I didn't ever expect that to happen either, until one day I rolled up to a stop sign in my Ranger. She fired up like always and was running great. I let the clutch out to make the turn, and she died on me after a few feet. Tried to crank it thinking it was the idle air valve acting up again, and she was trying to fire but acting like she was starving for fuel. Got it back to the girlfriend's house, did some troubleshooting, and found that the fuel pump had locked up. Just like that. No noise, no issues before that, nothing. Just died. I can't blame it though, it was the factory pump.
