2009 6.8V10 Headers

Good Morning,

I've got a 2009 3v6.8 and I'm getting annoyed by the exhaust manifold tick. It goes away when it warms up but id like to install headers on it. When searching you can find plenty for the 2v v10's that are under $500. A decent set for the 3v is right around $1000 from 5star. What the difference in the head? (besides the addition of another valve per cylinder) would the 2v headers work? I currently have custom tunes from 5star so tuning is not a problem as I can get new ones. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

No, 2V headers will not fit your 3V heads, the bolts are clocked to a different position in relation to the exhaust port. There are more 2V options as their manifolds were way more restrictive than the vastly improved 3V manifolds.

Thanks for the reply. in doing some more reading looks like I just need to do my gaskets and call it good. Save myself the $915.

Some people also recommend having the connecting face resurfaced at a machine shop. Seems there can be minor warping, and you would also want to get yourself some stainless studs and nuts.
