Like the previous poster said...I think the Left and Right ***** that you're talking about are the air vents that blow outside air to the area by your feet. When you turn on the fan **** on it blows heat to the floor....and when you pull that **** out it redirects the heat to the defrost. I think that's how mine works anyhow.

Well I think I got him going in the right direction as far as the heater, vent controls. We are lucky we have 4 complete heaters so we don't need any heater cores at least yet. I have to get back on my truck we have been busy on his, oh well still fun.

Also! I did get out there today and got her practically sanded, a little more of hand sanding to go, there is a bit of body work to do, but smooth and straight!

Also i need some opinions and thoughts.
I do have a 1960 hood for it. should i put it on it? However. i am looking at 59 hoods and i am seeing something fishy about mine. it doesn't have the ridge in the middle of the hood. unlike this one....? I have heard about these hoods, i read an article that they dont "exist" in fords inventory. But i have one, and to me they sound like a 59 mid-year hood where they changed the design of the hood.

Even when i sanded the truck, its the same color as the rest of the body. I know back in the day, ford did some strange things like that, for example. my 1957 f100 has a 272 y block, with yellow and green paint like a 56'. I ran all the numbers on the block, and that is the stock motor that came with the truck. I also talked to an older friend that had one of these trucks in my area when he was in his 20s, and he said that ford did do stuff like that, if the truck was early enough for its year. My 57' was one of the first 200 made. could the 60 be early enough it for the year that it has a 59 hood?

Yea this topic on the hoods has been discussed. I think your correct about a mid year undocumented change. The key is the opening for the hood grille on the 60 has no way provided for the grille and letters to attach. Where many 59 hoods with the hump in the middle like 60's have the provisions for the grille and letters to attach.

He is making great progress on the 60. We will finish wiring it up this week then on to the brakes. should be running and road ready in a few weeks. So here is a little update on my truck. finished the mod on the rad support

So now I have room for a fan and still space left over. not bad for a 460 in a 59.
Let me know if you want pics on the master and wheel cylinder rebuilds and we will post that up as well.

Well glad to see there is still some interest. It seems like last year there was just too many other things going on. My son bought a newer truck for his daily driver so we went thru that to be sure all was well and fixed a few things. between that and the rest of the projects we didn't get alot of time for these, however we are getting them out as we speak. we will be doing brakes, new spring bushings and making new brake lines on the 60. I will also weld up a few holes in the truck that need to be fixed. I have a set of headers for the 292 to go in as well and we are looking for a tri power for it. My daughter is all set to help out and has become a gearhead as well I guess it was bound to happen . so stay tuned we will be posting updates
