Fuel Additives for Diesel Bought in USA-Yes or No

2011-14 6.7 Powerstroke only. I would like to see a snapshot of additive users versus non-additive users.

Also, if you can, let us know what fuel stations you fill up at and if you use the same one all the time.

On both my TDI and Powerstokes I have always used Optilube (TDI Club group buy) since day one. I also try to fill up at Flying J or any truck stop.

Thanks for your info!

I use Motorcraft PM-22-A.
There is almost always Shell diesel in my tank.
If I'm in town and need to fill the tank, I use the same station that has yielded the cleanest filters at 15,000 miles (30,000 miles total).
I may however top off my tank at a closer Shell station if needed but I can count the number of times I do that on one hand in a year.

Never put a drop of additive in my Cummins that had 150k on it when i sold it and I won't put it in this new 6.7 either. If Ford can't make a motor that can't handle regular diesel then I've bought my last Ford. I think most of these guys are "chicken littles".

Oh and always get diesel at either Murphy (Walmarts) or Valero.

I have not been at this point. I may once I get closer to the 100k. If something in the pump was not machined quite right my theory is not to help limp it along, let it fail under warranty.

Stanadyne Lubricity + performance formula 50/50 mix. Loaf and jug on the corner. Kum and go next door has diesel cheaper but the last place I will go to get quality dry fuel is a place called Kum and Go.

PM 22 A in every tank. In Western Canada. Use Co-op fuel 90% of the time. When I travel in the USA I use major truck stops but not too picky on which one. Flying J, etc.

I buy BP diesel. Has additives already in it. Every once in a while I add ford powerstroke additive to it.

I use Power Service Diesel Kleen with cetane boost in every tank. Also use Walmart diesel.

John Deere tractors get Power Service about two or three times a year

Count me in the PM-22 every tank camp. My understanding is that in addition to increasing the lubricity, you also get a small (1 ish) MPG increase with the additive. Buying it by the gallon like I do, that means it's basically free so why wouldn't you use it?
