is the stereo factory or aftermarket? it sounds like loose wiring that makes contact when it wants to. if its aftermarket, i would bet a previous installer didn't know how to make proper connections and did the infamous twist-n-tape connections.

i've never heard of visions, but i'll assume they're a reputable store in your area. even so, it is possible that they made a mistake on a connection somewhere and thats causing your problem.
does it fully reset itself like when the battery has been removed, or only do the normal thing like when you turn the key off?
almost all stereos have one wire bringing power from the battery and another bringing power from the ignition switch. if the battery wire is losing connection, it'll do the full reset like when you disconnect the battery, whereas the ignition wire will only act like you turned it off and back on.

if that tells you its on the switched wire that you have a problem, leave your turn signal on next time you drive it, and see if the turn signal dies along with the radio. if it does, then you have a problem in the ignition switch, as these often develop an issue where accessories don't want to come back on unless you wiggle the key back a bit after starting.

My truck is doing the same thing right now . Haven't fixed it yet but the alt belt slopes when it does it and voltage droops don't know if it is it but an idea

sounds like some kind of massive electrical draw is pulling your whole system down. inspect your alternator wires and other wiring near the battery, it may be that something is shorting to ground.
my mom's car did something similar for awhile - voltage drop and alt belt slipping - the culprit was the alternator output wire getting into other wires. we didn't diagnose it until after the whole harness fried
