1997 f-150 engine cranks but won't start
back story: I had a dead battery (from sitting for a couple months) so I jump started the truck and drove it to the auto parts store to have the battery checked the battery did not charge enough during the drive over so they tried to jump start it again, and it would crank but not start, after replacing the fuel pump relay it still would not start, found that the Fuel pump was not starting and there was no pressure at the fuel rail . bought a new fuel pump and replaced it, still would not start. checked fuses and relays for PCM and fuel pump, all good, was reading some other posts and at the request of some of those I checked to see if the Check engine light was coming on when you turn the key on and it was not... does that mean the PCM is dead? if that is not the case what else can I check. any help would be appreciated.
note: the truck was bought used with a few issues but it was running fine. it has the 4.6L V8 4x4 extended cab and it is an early 97 model build date is around 10/96, if you need any more info please ask
