I messed up
I think I messed up my charging system somehow.
Rushing around getting my camper ready for the weekend,
I left the key on on for over an hour.
Fully warmed up,
I'm now only seeing 13.2 to 13.6 vlts.
before I'd see14.2 to 13.8.
I even saw 13.0 once or twice.
Other than the alt. is anything else at risk of being
messed up?
Thanks.

If camper is connected to your truck with a 7-way plug truck charges camper battery also, may have an effect on overall system voltage.

No it wasn't hooked up.
I'm gonna put an automatic charger on over night and take a drive tomorrow.
Would my stupid move harm the voltage regulator?

Not normally. Topping off the batteries with the charger should get you back where you were before.

FYI a Stock Alternator can barely put ebough power out to run the truck
So if you run campers and Add-Ons you better look into a High Output alternator
OEM alt is a 110amp PEAK Output Im not shure but it may need to be at 2K RPM to get to that 110amp peak output
Definatly not getting 110amps at Idel
Truck needs about 80-85amps alone to run
so its basicaly always working an OEM Alternator to Death
I would suggest a High Output Alternator From DC Power and also the Batterys cable upgrade
This is why All these FICM DIE Premature so as you know theres more to it then just dead Batterys

Some these trucks came with 140amp alternator
Some even came with 2 Alternators
Im not shure if the Twin Alts work at same time to generate the extra amps or not
So if you have 2 alts Im shure someone knows how the to Dance together I do have some info on it I can get into if you do indeed have 2 alts
