Transmission identification 4R70W

Hi,
Just bought a 98 F250. It has a 5.4 L engine 4x4. Made it a few kilometers and the tranny died. I knew it had problems but hoped to at least make it home. Anyway the truck is now back in the sellers garage about an hour away from me and I have been unable to get ahold of him. On the internet I found that it should be a 4R70W transmission, and I found one with 50k kilometers from a rolled 2000 truck. The guy was leaving town and I had to just get it or lose it, and for $200 I took the gamble. The plate on the side is missing. I found the following numbers on it (also noted that it had 3 bolts on the starter mount).
44W
53
RF-F3LP-7A040-A4 - near driveshaft end
RF-F7AP-7006-AA - lower driver side
G56 - inside bell housing
RF-YL3P - inside bell housing
7A105-AA - inside bell housing
Hoping one of you will be able to decipher from this if I just wasted 200 bucks or have a hope of getting my truck on the road with it.
Any help appreciated, I need this truck online to pull my travel trailer to the Columbia Icefields next month.
