Off topic... 1996 audi a4 questions

I have tried to get answers on an Audi forum

Hoping maybe some of you have worked with or know someone who has worked with one
I have a:
1996
Audi
A4 Quattro
2.8L
Manual transmission

Within the last few days my tach and speedometer have been acting up and when it first started I could cycle the key a few times and it would start working just fine... But today after sitting in the sun no matter how many times I cycled the key it wouldn't work...
When it's not working the tach flutters... (Can't think of a better word)

What does the speedo do? You only said the tach "flutters" which I'm assuming you mean fluctuates (i.e bounces) around.

I know on BMW's a lot of em the speed signal comes from the stability control module which gets its signals from the wheel speed sensors.

Does your car have stability control? I know each of the German manufacturers do stuff a bit different but basically run along the same tracks

Crank/cam sensors. VAG is notorious for making **** sensors.

There is. See if you can find a Bentley repair manual for download.
