Fuel pressure question
Just wondering what you guys have for fuel pressure.
I have been having issues with my truck lately.
2003 f-350 king ranch 6.0L
8 months ago I swapped in 2 injectors that were used but still good. #6 & #8. So the truck ran good for a bit then on a long haul I started noticing a little power loss but I thought it was me. Then last month my truck acted up and I still haven't found the issue. Truck wouldn't start warm so I thought oil leak. Then the day I added oil dye it started warm and I had no issue. Drove it and all was good.
Next day it would start and run for 5 seconds. Then die.
Did this 3 times. 4 th time I revved it up and it ran.
So I scanned the truck. Ficm voltage was good, ICP and IPR checked out.
Only issue was cylinder 8 contribution.
I had put a blue spring in my truck few years ago so I thought fuel pressure was good.
Someone on this forum told me to check my fuel pressure.
So I rigged up a Gauge and holly crap.
40-45@KOEO
45-48@KOER
50-60@1500rpm
Below 40@2500rpm
Below 30@3500rpm
The truck recently started smoking black.
The pump is growling louder than usual and surges like its sucking air when it's at KOEO and after the injectors cycle.
Now I know why injector 6 and 8 went and now why cylinder 8 is having issues.
I am running a powermax turbo and a edge 100hp chip.
Soon a sct custom tune. Have egr delete and arp studs.
And a AFE 4" down pipe back exhaust.
Am I beyond the limits of the stock pump?
I want a airdog II and a back of the head regulator
What is the best bang for the buck

I have now learnt a valuable lesson.
With a 6.0l assume nothing. Test it and know it!
I will be adding a set of gauges or a edge cts insight to my truck. So I can see this **** happening.
Truck justed rolled over 300,000 km so the fuel pump is no big deal. Better than a HPOP or HPO leak.

I think that 4000 is redline. Not sure exactly what the rpm was. Could have been 3250. I was watching the fuel pressure drop when I was driving it.

100 hp edge tune is hot enough, but I think that video says it very well. That's why I'm a strong advocate of fuel pressure gauge FIRST.

Could have paid for half a new performance fuel system.
But I need the truck running and I'd be waiting a few weeks to get a fuel system from a supplier.
