Best time of year to go see the big trees?

Hey there guys...
This is the first time i've posted here in the nor cal section as i tend to hang out in the diesel section but the wife and i need some advice from the local wildlife...

We took a trip up to Port Townsend, Wa the last week of october 2012. We took the fusion with a brand new set of falken rubber and 2 new rotors up front... was still waaay to long in that little car. Next time were taking the truck.

We would like to drag the camper with us next time and spend about a week in the redwoods.
Where would you guys suggest we pull in ?
What is the best time of year to get to enjoy our stay without having to fight other tourists?

I thought the Klamath area was pretty cool... nice people and seemed really laid back...

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share!

tourists are abundant for most of the summer. Miss the major holidays and you can meander up Hwy 101 and stop almost anywhere. Might be full in one campground but you can usually find a spot to "shade up". How far north are you traveling?

That was tentatively going to depend on how many FTE Brothers we made our way up to visit with...

Hoping real hard that i can have my wvo system running by then so we wont care about spending fuel so much...

Things on the calendar kinda got rearranged so this trip will be september of next year.
Heck if things go well enough tho... might b e able to push it up to this year...

Both times i have driven thru Oregon, i have entirely enjoyed it...
Its kinda hard to say which state is prettiest... but Oregon is dang sure at the top of the list.
