Advice needed: 1977 F250 cab onto 1984 chassis

I'm looking to put the cab and bed from a 1977 F250 onto a 1984 F250 4x4 chassis with a 6.9 idi diesel engine and a 4 speed trans.

Both trucks are extended cabs and in good running/driving condition.

I know I will need to put in the works for the clutch pedal and do something with the fuel tanks/lines. Maybe do some fab work to get things like cab mounts to line up. Anything else major that I'm not seeing?

The only real issue I am worried about is electrical. What should I be thinking about here?

Can't provide any info, but I'm looking into doing almost the exact opposite, 84 cab/box onto earlier 4x4 chassis, so I'll be watching this.

The 80's trucks have the engine set back farther. So you'll probably be in for some firewall modifications.

I believe the 84 has a wider frame in the back then the 77 does. But I'm not sure on that.

You'll probably have to modify all the body mounts, steering hook up.

I've learned from my 54 project to expect to have to change or modify much more then you were originally thinking you'd have to.

That's something I have learned too. Too many swaps to count, but most of mine have been jeeps, early broncos, and street cars, My f150 experience has been limited to axle/engine/transmission swaps, and an occasional same year cab or body. Didn't realize when I posted that this thread was a couple months old....
