1959 steering box

How did I tell what steering box my truck is equipt with. It looks like there could be three options. I can't see any casting numbers on or name on it?

the only casing no I can see are TAAK 3550 Ingersoll Machine

& how does the steering box separate from the steering shaft, it looks as it I have to take the steering wheel off and the shaft is part of the box? Is this correct

Perhaps if you posted a pic of your box it would help. Not knowing what box it is makes it hard to answer your next question.

1957/58 and 1960 F100/250 2WD have a Gemmer gearbox. Some 1959 F100/250's 2WD's have Gemmer, some have a Saginaw gear box.

The Gemmer box has a casting number of: 3CC31

I'm guessing that as it is likely a cdn. production truck the "Ingersoll" steering gearbox could have possibly been made in Ingersoll ont "?!?" I just swapped the one on my 58 last weekend for a slightly better one. Both were Ingersoll's & yes you have to take the shaft out right up to the steering wheel. I can't remember if on a stock truck you can slip it out of the column without completely removing the outer column I couldn't get enough room cuz of the exh. pipe coming off of my small block's manifold, so I hadta take the outer column off. , but this gave me a chance to re bushing my auto shifter (57 ford car) and tighten up the shifting mechanisim.
