It's A SuperDuty split shot thing.
The early SD's had what was known as a "cackle" on #8 injector because of the deadhead fuel system and the fact that 8 fired right after 6 and was usually starved for fuel. Fords fix was to replace the 8 injector with a "LL" long lead injector that had a larger pilot shot of fuel to quiet it down.
