I recently bought a 93 f 350 with the 7.3L diesel engine, I have a few issues with it and could use some help.
Issue 1, Brakes the brake pedal is hard to push and it seems that I have manual Brakes, any suggestions on what to check first.
Issue 2, while my wife was driving it home, the rear right wheel locked up, she could back up a lil and it would go forward some more, I am thinking wheel bearing, does anyone have a diagram of the rear end, and what it would take to repair it.
I work away from home and I will have to work on it on the side of the road to get it to where I can get it home. Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

 

On the firm brake pedal, that sounds like the booster isn't working. Often the result of low vacuum. Low or no vacuum will also result in the blower to be on defrost regardless of the control setting. If you have that symptom as well, a bad vacuum leak or a bad vacuum pump are the most likely. If you have good vacuum, it's most likely a bad brake booster.
The rear wheel locking sounds more like something binding up in the brake to me. I'd pull the wheel & drum, then see if the hub turns freely...
