This is just me thinking not sure if this will work.

I'd try unplugging the trans harness and start the truck in N then drop it in gear and if it doesn't do it the you may have a short.

I hate to hear this Todd. I really feel bad about selling that ZF now! I'll do my best to find you one.

Bill like I told you before, not a problem at all. We all knew it would happen, if it is in fact toasted, you never plan a good time for it break!

im curious how low fluid will cause this. I have never heard of it.Since I have an auto and will never have a hand shaker I want to learn as much as I can.

the kit with good clutches and good parts is 1400 from what I see...no converter or vb...this is gonna be expensive when I build mine.

What your wife said Todd is priceless, her heart is in the right place for sure. My first trans I blew on a hill and my wife and I climbed up part of the hill because of all the smoke, LOL. My second trans was running so hot I could hardly keep fluid in it. The mule is slipping now and it will be next. In other words, I feel for you.

Thanks guys. I was surprised when Mark said low fluid, but the guy has forgotten more about these auto trans than I'll ever know, so I try to pay attention when he chimes in. Her heart is in the right place, she just has no idea what it costs to replace vehicle parts, let alone a diesel trans. I priced the level 4 enforcer a few months ago with a RacerX VB and TC and it was coming out to around 3500. For parts. I know I can do a ZF swap cheaper, but time is going to dictate a lot here. I use/work my truck everyday.

I'm serious, it's only a 4 hour drive. With all the parts there, I can almost do the swap in a day.
