I ordered a kit for my truck, but still waiting for it. Like to hear what they have to say about it. It will arrive soon, Will give some feed back once I get it!

Rough Country's fit and finish seem to be better than Rancho and Skyjacker. I like their grey/black veined finish too.

Superlift has nice components.. probably their best product for our rigs is their adjustable track bar. However, their "customer service", to use the term lightly, sucks donkey.

you didn't state if you had coils or leaves, I can tell you that Rough Country leaves are junk for the front, I don't know anything about the coils.

I just finished the 4" lift from Rough country on my 76 F-100. Its been a pain for me. The rough country site doesn't tell you things you will need in addition to the lift. Mine ended up needing extended brake lines from the body to the axles. And in order to get that you need fittings and T-fittings. Mine also needed a pitman drop arm, and the conversion from a inverted "Y" tire rod pieces to the "T" style. The biggest problem I had was with the brake lines. If you want a list of what I bought let me know.

Also I ended up changing the rear leafs, to which I don't know if its right or not but the truck isn't level sitting per se. It points fwd which is ok by me. I had to do some other stuff but I believe that's due to something with my truck.

Overall its not as easy as they say on Rough Country website.

With a 4in lift it is recommended and with a 6in lift it is required. I'm sure you will be ok without it but in the future I would upgrade it to a drop pitman.

this site tells you a drop pitman arm is needed. 79 Prob has a "T" style Tie rod and drag brace. I'll try to take some pics from the front and post them. If that's what you are looking for.

Many people hate them but I, for one, like them. They are a cheap way to fit a bigger tire or what ever your reason. They are not hard to install. Start with your bed. Unscrew your bolts, lift up the bed, place 4x4 blocks of wood between the frame and the bed, slip in the pucks, put the bolts through, if the bolts are long enough put a nut on the end and then take the block out so you don't move the pucks, and tighten it down. Then do the same for the cab and the front clip. Next, sit back and drink a beer because you have just installed a body lift.

I like the way you think, one more ? What about the steering and 4x4 linkage?

With a 3in lift the shaft that comes out of you steering box and into the steering column will need to be lengthened (most are on a splined shaft and slide out) 1 1/4" and the shift linkage (automatic) will need to be lengthened but that is nothing hard, With a manual you will be fine and the T-case stick will be ok too but could be lengthened.
